How it started…
In the summer of 2020, as the COVID-19 pandemic spread across the globe, millions of children found themselves stuck at home, unable to attend summer camps or engage in the outdoor activities they loved. It was a difficult time for families, and many parents were struggling to find ways to keep their kids entertained and active while also staying safe.
It was in this context that weBEcamp was born, the name of this program connects four essentials:
weBEcamp is Camp Explore’s signature online/virtual program. Camp Explore is the youth and family pillar of Conscious Alchemy. Facilitators who were all passionate about outdoor activities and education, came together with a simple idea: to create online activities that would allow kids, tweens, teens, and young adults to participate in virtual summer camps from the comfort and safety of their own homes.
At first, the concept seemed far-fetched. How could you replicate the experience of a traditional summer camp in a virtual environment? But the team was undeterred, and they set to work designing a platform that would be and need to be epic: engaging, participatory, introspective and connection-oriented for children of all ages. As the online world steals our attention and ability to focus, we need epic programs to provide opportunities and spaces for more conscious interconnections and bias for action.
It wasn’t easy, but the team was determined, and after months of hard work and testing, they finally launched weBEcamp in the summer of 2020. The response was overwhelming. Hundreds of parents signed up their kids for the virtual summer camps, and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive.
Filipinos here and abroad logged on to weBEcamp sessions each day to participate in activities, made new friends, learned new skills, and had a blast while doing it.
weBEcamp continues to grow and evolve, adding new features and activities to keep pace with changing times. But the mission remains the same—to provide the youth a safe, fun, educational way to engage with the world around them, no matter where they are, grounded in self-awareness and leadership mindset, skill set, heart set, and tool sets.
How it is going now…
Now in its fourth year, weBEcamp continues to be a certified after-school partner of Franklin Covey Education’s, “Leader in Me” global program to provide online and face-to-face camps of the following:

The 7 Habits program is a popular and timeless curriculum designed to help people develop critical life skills like self-awareness, goal setting, and effective communication. It’s based on the bestselling book by Dr. Stephen and Sean Covey, and it’s been used by schools, youth groups, and other organizations around the world.
The Camp Explore team continuously undergo training and coaching certification to ensure they are fully equipped to deliver the program’s content in a fun, engaging, and developmentally age appropriate manner.
The program has been a game-changer for many of the kids who participate in weBEcamp programs. They learn how to set meaningful goals, develop positive habits, and build strong relationships with others. And they do it all in a supportive, fun, and interactive online environment that keeps them engaged and motivated.
